Common Words?

For how many times have you delayed the achievement of a goal in your life, simply by not knowing how to start it?

A wrong perception of the concepts and principles involved can keep us analyzing the matter forever, yet not doing anything to 'get the ball rolling'.

In most languages, the mastering of a basic vocabulary enables us to read, at least.

With language learning, it is not any different!

By learning these Common Words you will understand nearly 70% of any Portuguese article.

With about 20% being added by those words deduced by similarity (elevador, elevator - internacional, international), sooner than expected you will be able to get the main idea of any Portuguese text.

And you will be prepared to write, speak and understand the spoken Portuguese as you manage to read it.

The words are presented in groups of seven or eight. Read carefully the first group, comparing with the translation.

Try to understand them through context. However, DON'T attempt to 'memorize' each word.

On your next study session (some minutes, hours or days later - you set the pace) make a revision of the material seen and go ahead.

It is not necessary to review it phrase by phrase. Start reading the words, until you find one that you can't remember easily. Then, and only then, reread the sentences related.

Keep the process with each group of Common Words. If you read only ONE word a day, you will finish the course in one year from now.

But I sincerely expect better things from you...

After each group of 52 Common Words, you will find the Stop & Check session. By then, you can decide about moving on or going back to improve your performance.
