Love with Portuguese Translation

My story began in a club in Boston where I had been dragged as part of a bachelorette party. From across the room, I saw the most gorgeous man I had ever seen and without a pause I walked right up to him like I was drawn by a magnet.

After dancing for the rest of the night, the music finally shut off and only then did I realize he did not speak English!

Some of his friends helped us to exchange phone numbers and for a while, I sent him text messages in broken Spanish, and he used Babelfish to send me incoherent English messages.

I dug around frantically on-line and located Learn Portuguese Now, which has been invaluable! I printed out the 'Common Words' and 'Verbs' and read them over and over.

It has been two years now, my Portuguese is passable, my accent is horrible, and Ricardo and I are thrilled to be expecting our first baby in the Fall!

I am definitely going to pack Charlles' materials when I bring the baby to Brasil next year to meet his family.

Minha história começou em um clube em Boston, para onde eu havia sido levada numa despedida de solteira. Do outro lado da sala, avistei o homem mais lindo que eu já tinha visto, e caminhei até ele como se estivesse sendo atraída por um ímã.

Depois de dançar a noite inteira, a música finalmente parou e só então percebi que ele não falava Inglês!

Alguns de seus amigos ajudaram-nos a trocar nossos números de telefone e durante algum tempo, eu enviou a ele mensagens de texto num espanhol quebrado, e ele usou o tradutor Babelfish para me enviar suas mensagens num Inglês meio desconexo.

Pesquisei freneticamente na Internet e encontrei o site Learn Portuguese Now - o que me foi precioso! Imprimi as 'Palavras Comuns' e os 'Verbos' e os li por diversas vezes.

Já faz dois anos, o meu Português é o básico, meu sotaque é terrível, e o Ricardo e eu estamos emocionados, pois estamos esperando nosso primeiro bebê, que chega no Outono!

Com certeza vou levar na bagagem o material do Charlles quando eu levar o bebê para o Brasil no próximo ano para conhecer a família do Ricardo.
